The same, I'm sure, will be true of the infrastructure of cloud computing.In other words, where today we say "there's an app for that", in the 1900s we said "there's an appliance for that". Decades from now, our lives will be as different from today as today is from the time when light bulbs and electric motors began to proliferate. Imagine that!

When electricity was first widely distributed to homes it was used primarily for lighting. This was the most urgent need, as it replaced dangerous oil lamps. Early appliances had 'plugs' that screwed directly into light bulb sockets because there were no plug outlets. I'm told on good authority tha tthe first successful electrical home appliance was a personal electric massager, and that buyers were over whelmingly female. The parallel to the internet, with the exception of gender is too obvious.
