I used to use a My Yahoo page as my home page, and though I never used it, my understanding is that before Reader came along, most people used Yahoo for their RSS subscriptions. Come to think of it, I still have that Yahoo account....<br /><br />I've been experimenting with using Outlook. It's an OK reader, but the migration is hell. Outlook dumps all your feeds in the top level folder and doesn't provide any batch editing tools to folderize them. For me, if I'm putting less in repairs into it than the depreciation (and loan interest, if applicable) on a newer car, I'm ahead.
